Our Legacy: From Founding to Innovation
Established Roots (1961 – 1967)
Fresno Equipment Company was established in 1961 to meet the growing demand for agricultural equipment in Central California. Co-founded by Mark Vucovich, former General Sales Manager at Pringle Tractor Co., the company expanded quickly. It opened locations in Fresno, Five Points, and Firebaugh, replacing a former downtown Fresno dealership for John Deere and Caterpillar.
Mark eventually became the sole owner, laying the foundation for decades of growth and innovation.
Growth and Evolution (1980 – 2010)
After Mark's passing in 1980, the business continued under the leadership of his children. During the 1990s and 2000s, Fresno Equipment Company adapted to the region’s shifting agricultural landscape. The company emphasized vineyard and orchard equipment, meeting the specialized needs of growers throughout California’s Central Valley.
In 1998, the Fresno store moved to its current Bagley Avenue location. This relocation positioned the company for future expansion and significant customer service improvements.
Recognition and Expansion (2010 – Present)
In 2010, Fresno Equipment Company received the Baker, Peterson & Franklin Agriculture Business of the Year Award. The honor recognized our ongoing commitment to excellence and service within the agricultural community.
That same year, Marsha Vucovich acquired full ownership, continuing the family legacy. Her son, Reid Pinion, joined the company in 2014, bringing legal and operational expertise. He now serves as CFO and Operations Manager, playing a key role in the company’s growth and strategic direction.
We expanded our precision agriculture offerings while adding more orchard and vineyard specialty equipment for California growers. These advancements help us better support the evolving needs of farms across the state.
